Multitasking may look like a timesaver at first, but in fact, it creates more stress and frustration since you are managing to do too many tasks at once. Make it your commitment to do three short tasks for the task. There is nothing more satisfying than crossing off a task on your checklist! Keep a stock of fun activities like books, ipods when you have extra time like waiting in an airport, for a doctor`s appointment, or in traffic. Have a small ritual you do at the end of each day. While work is an inevitable part of our lives, there are time and management tips to manage the daily stress of work and family and avoid burnout to help infuse more joy, productivity and satisfaction. So make those moments count!
Sort the goal-oriented actions into the order you wish to do them. Set the most important, most remunerative and most difficult nearest the beginning. There is nothing quite as effective as a countdown timer to keep you focused. When you begin a task, set the timer for the duration and hit start. While it is counting down to its alarm you vow to do nothing else but that action. You will be amazed how this will increase your effectiveness.
The traditional checklist, a long, handwritten list of tasks, has evolved along with new technologies. In the past, we would relish in the act of crossing off each task as it is completed. But in today`s technology-driven world, the checklist takes on a new form. Today`s checklist is probably typed into a computer or a Day Planner, and the emotional "cross off" has been transformed to the harsh tapping of the delete key. Despite technology, regardless of where you are moving, a checklist will be needed to help you get there.
Planning and Working are separate activities. We should not really mix the two actions. It is best to Plan and then Do. It is also best to plan early (either the morning of or the evening before). You do not work 24/7. So it is important to establish your duties hours. This can be your work period on the job, or even extend beyond our standard office time. For work-at-home folks this period may begin early and end late. You should establish a specific start time and an end time.
A funeral planning checklist could be what makes a world of difference during a very difficult time: the passing of a loved one. Planning ahead of time for funerary arrangements is a difficult-but worthwhile-exercise. Talk with your loved ones. The most important first step in pre-planning for a funeral is to have conversations with family and loved ones, as difficult as those conversations may be. Prepare a will or estate. Getting plans down in writing is critical. There are online tools that can be used to store critical estate information.
The final step before submitting your work is to do some proofreading. Most writers do this process. They carefully proofread a certain writing before it will be published publicly in a newspaper, magazine, any reading material or over the internet. This is not an easy task where you will just lay your back down. Note that this is different from editing, where you work on structural and organizational issues. Achieving both consistency and correctness are your goals for this phase of the writing process.
