We can get the next day clothes ready the night before. This will give us a chance to check to see if it is right. If something needs to be done to it, we will have time to do it. Last minute details can ruin our day. We can rise up an hour earlier to meet our family need before heading off to work. We can do things like ironing their clothes or washing a load of clothes. We can take meat out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to thaw out if we know what we want to cook for dinner. We can do some house cleaning and prepare a chore list for the Children. A lot can be done in an hour. If we do some of those things, we will be more productive at work because we will not be thinking about the things that we need to do at home.

In your schedule, you should also include some fun element. For instance, mark a day every week on which you head out for a movie, dinner, or an amusement park. This will be very helpful in family bonding. Moreover, this day should be solely for the family and you must not plan a day out with your friends or colleagues on this very day. You must also consider certain variations that suddenly show up. These variations can disturb your schedule. For instance, you had a bad day at work, or you are ill. The movie plan will have to be postponed for next week then.

Family life can be overwhelming at times, so what can you do to stay sane? Keep things simple, have a routine, and be flexible. It is pretty easy if you set some guidelines for the rhythm of your life that everyone in your family can adhere to. The end result? You will be left with more time for Mom and Dad and that is a really sweet thing.

Play dates should be a special occurrence for younger children, not a regular routine. On days with no activities, ensure your child comes home, has an afterschool snack and enjoys some free time before doing their homework. Kids need some days to relax and do nothing. The kids will love it because they can pick out a planner that`s colorful and fun for them to use. You will want to make sure they want to use it. Dad will be happy knowing that he is picking up kids on time and knowing when to schedule family business around work business. Mom will love it because she can finally buy the planner of her dreams and cost won`t be an issue.

Do not over schedule. Your child`s school day is busy enough. Set clear guidelines for how many extracurricular activities they can participate in and stick to them. Do not let children organize play dates as you are picking them up from school. This is the quickest way to burn them out. They may seem full of energy coming off of their busy day, but they will melt down quickly if they do not have any downtime at the end of their day.
