If you are a working woman, things are tough for you. However, you must make it clear to your children that you have a job and they will have to respect your professional requirements too. Therefore, you owe a hand in doing all the chores and family members must cooperate. Even if your work hours are flexible, give enough importance to your work schedule as well as your home schedule.
Family life can be overwhelming at times, so what can you do to stay sane? Keep things simple, have a routine, and be flexible. It is pretty easy if you set some guidelines for the rhythm of your life that everyone in your family can adhere to. The end result? You will be left with more time for Mom and Dad and that is a really sweet thing.
Keeping everything organized in your home environment will be of great help to you. You can now manage the tasks well, and the whole discipline of your house will be maintained. Work, school and extracurricular activities can keep a family bouncing around and never being able to really keep track of who`s bouncing where. There is one way that is sure to work in keeping your family in control, on schedule and never dropping the ball.
More and more I am realizing that most of your issues can be resolved by simply scheduling your day. What do I mean? Make the schedule, the calendar, the timer, something concrete, outside of you, the authority. Also, a schedule preps your child for the day and upcoming events. You will find your children much more cooperative if they have been clued in to the plan, and more importantly, included in the planning.
Monthly meetings help plan for events that are coming down the road. Family members can plan for rides, babysitters and any out-of-town events that may be coming up. Monthly meetings also help coordinate holidays, birthdays and any other celebrations that take away from the normal school and work activities. Planning and scheduling does not have to be a task or chore for you or your loved ones. It can be a great way to share, bond and talk about all of the things that are going on in your lives. Planning and meeting will keep the balls bouncing in the same direction and no one will get left behind or forgotten.
Some of these guidelines may seem obvious, but I think we all need reminders from time to time on how to simplify our schedules and keep a regular routine. Kids thrive on having boundaries and they feel comfort in knowing what is coming next. Spontaneous events, late nights and special vacations are all great, but everyone feels good about coming home to a familiar routine after the sparkle wears off. When you are ready to sit down and ponder and map out your home school schedule for the upcoming academic year. A good calendar is an ingredient not to be forgotten as part of your overall homeschool schedule and homeschool lesson plan.
