Angelina Marchesi January 11, 2021 Family Checklist
Humans have an incredible capacity for memory, we remember to do the basic things to keep us alive, we remember multiple tasks on a daily basis at work, even if we do not have checklists to remind us, and we remember all our personal and family responsibilities. Yet, we live such fast paced lives that, without reminders and checklists things will, and inevitably do, slip through the cracks. People lose their keys, forget their jackets and even sometimes forget to pick the kids up.
Balance your work schedule with enjoyable "pick-me-up" activities that help manage your stress creatively. This is not an option but a necessity! Making time for fun and enjoyable activities is all about respecting yourself and also modeling this for your family. Start with small activities like spending time at a park or seeing your favorite movie.
You can use these checklists at any stage of the person`s recovery to chart progress, identify improvements, and spot problems. If the person you expect to provide care for has not been discharged yet from the hospital or rehabilitation program, you can share this list with therapists. You can then use it to work together to plan the person`s care, including how much assistance and independence you can expect. It also gives you a starting point to track further progress after the person comes home with you as caregiver. If you are already caring for or supervising a family member at home, then it is important to include everyone in the discussion. There needs to be agreement among everyone providing care on the individual`s current level of skill and decision making abilities in order to safely promote greater independence.
Ideally the template will keep track of where you are in the day, all incomplete tasks, and keep you posted, at a glance, on how you are doing. Regardless how you do this, with some cleverness you will find a way. The key point is to make sure the above 7 tips are implemented. You will be amazed how much you can get done and how much ease of mind you will have, as you work, knowing you are working with a plan.
The final step before submitting your work is to do some proofreading. Most writers do this process. They carefully proofread a certain writing before it will be published publicly in a newspaper, magazine, any reading material or over the internet. This is not an easy task where you will just lay your back down. Note that this is different from editing, where you work on structural and organizational issues. Achieving both consistency and correctness are your goals for this phase of the writing process.
Decide ahead of time how long you will devote to a specific task. That way as you are working on it, the knowledge that your allocated time is limited will hone your focus and sharpen your mind, allowing you to concentrate more fully on the task at hand. When you make appointments with other people, use scheduling software or a calendar to keep track of these time-bound events. Likewise, since you have taken the time to plan your day, be meticulous in keeping to your scheduled tasks. Do not let yourself be distracted.
