Anne Sanborn December 27, 2021 Family Schedule
Have clearly defined nap and/or bed times for each member of the family and stick to them as often as you can. Try to maintain a consistent before bed ritual each night. Tidy room, lay out clothing for next day, bathe or wash up, brush teeth, tell a story, read or listen to music, and lights out. Be flexible when it comes to special events that keep your children up later than usual. You can get back to your regular routine the next day. Wake up with enough time to start your day off right. When times are hectic, things are missed and children and parents become stressed.
Our family might need our attention doing our work schedule like Doctor Visits or business affairs. In instances like this, we should request time off in advance and make sure our work is caught up so we will not be behind when we return to work. Children have after hour school activities and it is important that we attend as many of them as we can. We should ask them about their activities everyday so nothing will come upon us suddenly, that way we might be able to leave work a little early by asking someone to cover for us. They will be more willing to help us out if they know about it in advance.
In your schedule, you should also include some fun element. For instance, mark a day every week on which you head out for a movie, dinner, or an amusement park. This will be very helpful in family bonding. Moreover, this day should be solely for the family and you must not plan a day out with your friends or colleagues on this very day. You must also consider certain variations that suddenly show up. These variations can disturb your schedule. For instance, you had a bad day at work, or you are ill. The movie plan will have to be postponed for next week then.
This is an age-old hassle jogging work schedule and family schedule but there are a few things we can do to avoid this rush. It could also reduce stress in us. We know that it is the Parents responsibility to raise the Children and provide for them and in most cases that means we would have to work but working outside the home and raising the Children are a full time job in both cases. So what can we do to manage our schedule between the two? One thing we can do is to prioritizes, do the things that are most important first. It may not be what we want to do but it is important to do those things that are needed.
We can get the next day clothes ready the night before. This will give us a chance to check to see if it is right. If something needs to be done to it, we will have time to do it. Last minute details can ruin our day. We can rise up an hour earlier to meet our family need before heading off to work. We can do things like ironing their clothes or washing a load of clothes. We can take meat out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to thaw out if we know what we want to cook for dinner. We can do some house cleaning and prepare a chore list for the Children. A lot can be done in an hour. If we do some of those things, we will be more productive at work because we will not be thinking about the things that we need to do at home.
The family that plans together stays together. Establish a meeting day and time and stick with it. Sundays are a great time to establish schedules. For one, it is when most families spend time together, whether it be church, dinners or just relaxing from the weeks events. The established day must be one that all members can attend. Remind attendees to bring their planners. General pencil and pen with paper are not acceptable.
