Rose F. Roselli July 7, 2021 Family Schedule
Every member of the family must have a certain task to do. All the members must be serious about the particular responsibility they have. As you distribute the tasks among members, at the end of the day, you will have a limited burden on your shoulders, and ultimately you will feel relaxed as all the chores would be done on time. You can also switch these duties from time to time so that the members are not bored with what they are supposed to do.
The family that plans together stays together. Establish a meeting day and time and stick with it. Sundays are a great time to establish schedules. For one, it is when most families spend time together, whether it be church, dinners or just relaxing from the weeks events. The established day must be one that all members can attend. Remind attendees to bring their planners. General pencil and pen with paper are not acceptable.
On the kitchen counter or on the fridge, set up a family calendar. Make sure this is visible to all the family members during most of the times of their day. On this calendar, mark all the upcoming happenings of the following week. This way, you will be able to keep everyone updated about different events. You can also set up a few guidelines. This will make the whole atmosphere disciplined. You should let family members know about a few rules that operate in the house. For instance, the number of times each member can go out with friends in a week, the maximum time till which they can stay out, breakfast to be done with family, etc.
Play dates should be a special occurrence for younger children, not a regular routine. On days with no activities, ensure your child comes home, has an afterschool snack and enjoys some free time before doing their homework. Kids need some days to relax and do nothing. A Family Organizer or Calendar lets kids help with planning by placing stickers to mark activities, play dates and special activities. This will help them prepare for the week ahead.
Giving the Family members responsibilities can take a big burden off us. We cannot do everything, if we try to do it all we will soon become burned out so give them some work to do. Finally, we need time for ourselves to relax and re-group. We take just for us doing what we want to do even if it is nothing this time. It is the time for our spouse, if we have one to take care of the needs of the Children. If we are not married but we have an older child, he can care for the younger one(s) for a while. This time of refreshment is beneficial because it will relax us and clear our mind so we could, with energy get back to the business at hand.
Before you start the planning and scheduling process, you must make sure that all attendees, meaning the family members, have the required materials needed to stay on task. Everyone involved will need a planner or scheduler that can fit into a purse, book bag or briefcase. A planner is going to be a crucial part of keeping your family on task. Who does not like to be organized?
